Suggestions arising from the meeting to base submissions on to the Mundaring Shire re: Proposed Structure Plan No 71

 

All submissions should be forwarded in writing or emailed to Christopher Jennings, shire@mundaring.wa.gov.au a CC copy should also be emailed to the Save Our Lake committee at helena.valley.wa@gmail.com

 

      “Suggestions to address”

 

1 – Eco system, environment, pollution, habitat, aesthetics, benefits, amenities for residents, maintaining the 

       Hills Lifestyle

2 – Contamination, drainage

3 - Wetlands, 80% have been destroyed since European settlement, protecting this helps redress the balance

4– Peace, tranquillity, POS, retain as many trees as possible

5 – Wild life protection & protected species – birdlife, long necked tortoises

 

      No through roads

 

1 – Parkview St, must not link with Melita St (will be too much traffic, will lose lake & wetland)

2 – Carabeen Ave, must not be put through lake & wetland will be lost)

3 – Limit housing lots to save the lake & wetlands

4 – Melita St to continue to the left on existing bush road to Helena Valley road for bush fire retreat
